Advantages and Disadvantages of Data Compression

Advantages of Data Compression:

• Decrease in the size of the file which occupies less in the memory.
• Reading and writing the data is fast.
• The speed of the file transfer is more.

• Variable dynamic range ( difference between largest and the smallest values).

Disadvantages of Data Compression: 

• Complicated.
• There is a chance of transmission errors.

• Byte or pixel relation is not understood.
• Have to decompress all for previous data.
