- Main difference between the JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert group) and BMP (Bit Map) is compressible and incompressible.
JPEG-format:
- Memory management is possible in the system and other memory units by compressing.
- Occupies less space in the page when compressed to the desired dimension.
- It is less memory and high quality hence it is used in web pages.
- It is easy load and download. Digital cams uses JPEG images because occupies less space.
Disadvantages:
- Low resolution because low of low size and compressed format.
- Difficult to edit for personal because of low resolution.
BMP-format:
- Images which are low compressible and not compressed are BMP images.
- They are large in size because they are not compressed.
Advantages:
- BMP images has more resolution compared to JPEG images.
- BMP images are easy to edit because of high resolution and quality.
Disadvantages:
- Because they are large in size occupies more memory in memory devices.
- They not load quickly hence they are not used in web pages and digital cameras.
